   Configuring Windows XP

 

  • Click on Start, Control Panel
  • Select Network & Internet Connections
  • Click Setup or Change your Internet Connection
  • Click on the Add button
  • Select Dial-up to private network
  • Click on Next
  • Enter the phone number - 440 6406
  • Enter a name for your connection
  • Click on Finish
  • Enter your username (found on your Subscriber Information print out)
  • Enter your password (optional)
  • Click on Properties
  • Click on the Networking Tab Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
  • Click on Properties
  • Select the option "Obtain an Ip address automatically"
  • Select the option "Use the following DNS server addresses"
  • Enter the following numbers in the Preffered DNS and Alternate DNS boxes respectively: 205.214.207.99 AND 205.214.207.89
  • Click on the Advanced button
  • Ensure the following are checked: Use default gateway on remote network and Use IP header compression
  • Click on OK all the way out.
  • Ensure your phone line is properly connected to the computer, and click on Start, Connect to and select your connection name.
  • Ensure your username and password are entered and click on dial.
  • Once connected open Internet Explorer to browse or Outlook Express to check mails.
